Cataclean Plato Racing is ready to make its Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship debut at Donington Park this weekend (18-19 April).
After six months setting the team up, and designing and building a pair of Mercedes-AMG A35 Saloons for Dan Rowbottom and Adam Morgan to drive in 2026, the newest team on the BTCC grid is primed to make its mark in the UK's biggest and best motor racing series.
The squad goes into the first event of the year having already displayed some encouraging 'out of the box' performance during a first pre-season test at Croft and during an extended test at the Brands Hatch BTCC media day earlier this month.
Team Principal, Jason Plato, the winningest driver in the history of the BTCC and a two-time champion, is relishing the prospect of the Cataclean-sponsored team that bears his name making its competitive debut in Leicestershire on Saturday.
"Our cars have been received well, I've got two drivers who are really happy with the balance they've got and their feeling in the car, and we're pretty confident about our pace. It's been a brilliant build up," he explained.
"Everybody that's here, and a lot of people that aren't here, have all played their part in getting this team onto the grid. To do what we've done in five and a half months, to deliver two gorgeous race cars, and to get all of our branding right, and to look so good is really amazing. I'm so proud!"
With pre-season preparation complete, attention now turns to the expectations for the first three races at Donington.
Jason said: "The target is to be on the front two rows in qualifying. It's ambitious, but we're not here to come second. There's some great teams and drivers in this championship but you've got to aim high. We're coming."
